What's wrong with your air conditioning?

Air conditioning dripping water
A water leak almost always comes from a drain blocked with dirt, or from ice built up on the evaporator that melts once the unit is switched off. Until it's checked, it's best to turn it off — running it with a blocked drain can end up damaging the wall or ceiling below the indoor unit. On the visit we check the drainage run, clear the trap or condensate pump if it has one, and check for ice on the evaporator before ruling out low refrigerant. Air conditioning making noise
A constant hum usually comes from the fan or the compressor in the outdoor unit; an intermittent knocking is often a loose screw or a part rubbing as it turns. A new noise almost never goes away on its own, and the sooner it's checked, the less chance it has of damaging the compressor. On the visit we first work out whether the noise is coming from the indoor or the outdoor unit, then track down the exact part.
Air conditioning won't switch on
First, check the fuse box: a tripped breaker is the most common cause and doesn't need a technician visit. If the breaker is fine and the unit still shows no sign of life, the problem could be in the control board, the remote, or the unit's own power supply — and that does need proper instrument-based diagnosis.
Showing an error code on the remote
Error codes vary by manufacturer — what one code means on one unit can be a completely different fault on another — so there's no single chart that covers every model. On the visit we read the exact code from your unit, interpret it for that manufacturer, and explain what it means before proposing anything.

We start the unit, check filters, the outdoor unit and drainage, and measure pressures with gauges if we need to pin down the exact fault.
Quote before we touch anything
We explain what's wrong and what's needed to fix it before starting work. If a part needs to be ordered, we tell you that on the same visit too.
Documented repair
We close the visit with photos of the unit and the fault found, and a signed digital work report you can check afterwards.

How quickly can you come out to a breakdown?
We handle call-outs during business hours, Monday to Friday. If it's an urgent breakdown, say so in your message or call us directly — we look at weekend call-outs case by case, depending on how urgent it really is.
Do you give a quote before repairing anything?
Yes. We diagnose the unit on the visit and explain what's wrong first; the repair quote is agreed before we start work, not afterwards.
What happens if the air conditioning needs a part you don't have on hand?
We tell you on the same visit. Some faults, like a refrigerant leak that needs a part ordered in, need a second visit to finish the repair.
